Narrow boat
Having joked last week about moving onto a barge, I've actually seriously started considering it. I've been looking at the prices of narrow boats on Ebay and Gumtree, and it seems genuinely do-able. The only problem is that it seems quite hard to find a residential mooring in London. They all seem to have long waiting lists. Still, I'm going to continue my research.

Oh I looked at boats too when starting my flat search. They just don't make a lot of sense once you really know everything. You must pay cash as they aren't mortgage-able and then IF you find a mooring, the monthly fees are so high that it's just like paying rent on an expensive flat. You'd do much better to put that same money towards a mortgage on a two or three bed flat. Give me a ring if you want to talk about it, I can share all the research I've already done!
